In September, our ninth-grade students spent two introductory days at Gymnázium VICTORIA HIGH SCHOOL. As part of the “A Day at High School” programme, they had the opportunity to experience a typical day as high school students, explore the school environment, and get a feel for the atmosphere of high school classes.
They met the high school teachers and took part in lessons and programmes such as Global Politics, Social Sciences, and SCIENCE 360. This gave them a clearer idea of what to expect when they move on to high school and how studying at high school differs from their experience at primary school.
In the next stage of our collaboration, the roles will be reversed. Students from Gymnázium VICTORIA HIGH SCHOOL will visit Primary VICTORIA SCHOOL and share their own experiences with older primary school students. They will offer practical advice on preparing for entrance examinations, choosing a high school, and adjusting to a new school environment.
The connection between our schools gives younger students the opportunity to gain a realistic insight into the next stage of their education and to hear directly from students who have recently experienced entrance examinations and the transition to high school themselves. VICTORIA SCHOOL and Gymnázium VICTORIA HIGH SCHOOL are part of one school community where students can support one another, share their experiences, and learn from each other.
